China H7N9 cases rise to 127


One more infection has been reported in Southeast China’s Fujian province. That brings the total number of cases in China to 127.
The newest patient is a 58-year-old man, in serious condition. Medical professionals are tracing those who have had close contact with him. This is the third case detected in Fujian province, none fatal so far. On Monday morning, a patient died in Shanghai after testing positive less than two weeks ago. To date, 24 patients have died nationwide. Cases have been reported in 10 provinces on the Chinese mainland, and one in Taiwan.
